Card Chess – Extended and Professional Rules
I. BASIC CHESS RULES
The game is based on classic chess rules.
The player with the white pieces always makes the first move.
The king can only be removed from the game by checkmate (stalemate or timeouts are handled according to standard chess rules).
II. CARD MECHANICS
The card mechanic adds a dynamic element to the game and diversifies strategic decision-making.
1. Card Deck
The game is played with a deck of 22 cards.
Players may split the deck in half (11-11) if they choose.
Alternatively, each player may create and use their own custom 22-card deck.
2. Pre-Game Preparation
Before the game starts, players swap decks and shuffle them.
Decks are placed face-down on the right side of each player.
3. Card Draw Mechanism
Before starting, players agree on how many cards will be drawn during the game.
Example: Will each player draw 5, 10, or more cards during the game?
This decision determines the influence of chance in the game.
At the beginning of each turn, a card is drawn before making a move.
The drawn card can either be used immediately or saved for later activation.
4. Card Activation
Players can activate cards during their turn.
Cards can be activated in two phases:
Before moving a piece.
After moving a piece.
Once activated, a card is removed from play and placed in a "graveyard" (discard pile).
